We Need Your Support
Your donation will genuinely make a difference. We are dedicated to ensuring Portage provision and quality across the the UK.
The National Portage Association has been lucky enough to benefit from generous funding from the Department For Schools, Children and Families for the past 5 years. Current funding ceases in 2011, at which point, we will be relying on our own fundraising activities, and importantly, your generousity.
You can also use the mechanisms below to donate directly to your local service. The National Portage Association will need to retain the gift-aid portion of any donation made to comply with Charity Commission regulations. Please contact the office to arrange this at the number on the contact us page or alternatively by email at Administrator@portage.org.uk
How to Give
There are many different ways that you give to the National Portage Association. Whether it be making a single donation, or a longer term commitment. Here are some of the ways people like you, can help us:
Make a One-Off Donation
The Co-Operative bank has kindly provided us with a mechanism called Charity Choice where you can make secure payments directly into the National Portage Assciaition bank account using your credit or debit card. Remember, if you are a UK tax payer, the National Portage Association can benefit from Gift Aid, meaning an extra 28 pence for every pound you give. You can do this at
Charity Choice.
Donate via "Just Giving"
Just Giving is a mechanism where you can organise all of a fund raising activity on line. No more walking around the office or friend's houses, seemingly begging for money.
Just use the clever Just Giving website, and all you need to do is input exactly what sponsored event you are going to undertake and Just Giving take care of everything else, from publicising your event, to collecting the money and ensuring that the National Portage Association receives the funds.
You can go directly to the National Portage Association page to start a fundraising activity by clicking

Use an existing Charity Aid Foundation (CAF) account you have, or use CAF to donate
Some people prefer to put money every month into a CAF account and
then use this to make donations to all the charities they support. You can use the Charity Aid Foundation to donate to the National Portage Association. You can either use an existing account you may have or set up a new one at CAF Online.

Donate commission you earn using Quidco, the cashback site
Cashback sites are increasingly becoming a place where people go to 'bag' commissions for buying products online.
How does it work?
Well, in the online world, advertisements you click on (often referred to as click through links), earn the site you are on a commission if you eventually buy something. Cashback sites are cashing in on this by becoming a single site, that offers lots of "click through links".
So What's in it for a Cashback Site?
There are a variety of different ways in which these sorts of sites are set up. Some take a percentage of the commission you earn them, and others like Quidco take the first five pounds in commission you earn each year and then the rest of the proceeds are yours to keep, or to donate to a favourite charity.
So What Can I Buy Through a Cashback Site?
The answer in short, is almost everything! Quidco offers links to most of the main high street retailers, but also utility providers (for swapping your Gas and Electric or Internet Service Provider for instance) and many other online retailers. You can even do your weekly online grocery shopping if you like!
So What Can Be Saved?
Some savings are as much as 40% (that's not a mistake!) The links send you directly to the website you would end up at if you used a search engine or typed in the website link directly so there are no hidden extra charges. You pay exactly the same as if you went to the site directly yourself, but this way you earn the commission.
So How Do I set up a Quidco Account?
The National Portage Association is registed with Quidco, so a really easy and free way to donate to us is to set up a Quidco account and then donate the proceeds of your online shopping to the NPA. Click the link below to to get to the Quidco site, then click the join now link at the top right of the page.
