• What do I need to do to become a Portage worker?
• Firstly - you will need to have successfully completed a 3 Day Portage Basic Workshop that has been led by an NPA Accredited trainer. Individual Portage services may have other criteria as well e.g. attaining an NVQ Level 2in Child Development etc.
• Is there a second certificate to give to staff when they have completed their Core Competencies?
• Yes - this will be available for the person who does your supervision when they have attended Core Competency days for those in supervisory posts.
• What should I do, as a Home Visitor, if I can't get on with my Portage family?
• You should take your concerns with your line manager to discuss the way forward to the benefit of all concerned.
• Is there anywhere I can go to ask questions, or get feedback on Portage related matters?
