Portage Volunteers Wanted for Russia and Bulgaria!

'The Promise' charity are seeking professional volunteers with experience of both delivering and training in Portage, to provide advice and support to new Portage teams in Russia and Bulgaria.

We need volunteers!

Would you like to help new Portage Teams abroad? Could you spare a couple of hours a week to provide advice and feedback via email/Skype?

We desperately need to expand our team of professional volunteers and would love to hear from you if the answer to the questions above is Yes!

ThePromise help disabled children in Russia and neighbouring countries by training carers, professionals and parents in Portage.  Since 2005, when our first pilot Portage project started, we have been at the forefront of bringing a positive change in attitude towards disability and giving disabled children the best possible start in life.

Our primary aim is to continue the dissemination of Portage throughout Russia, establishing centres of excellence to provide support for new services. We currently have a team of Russian Portage practitioners who are ready to train more professionals and parents to use Portage but we need experienced Portage Workers to provide advice and mentorship to these new teams to ensure they have the knowledge, skills and confidence to establish a high quality team.

If you have the time and enthusiasm to help us continue to change lives of disabled children in Russia, would like to be part of a fantastic team and may be even volunteer in Russia with motivated and very inspirational people why not give us a call.

ThePromise are planning to run both a Train the Trainer and Basic Portage Workshop this April in a beautiful city in Russia, only 7 hours from London. We are hoping you could be a part of this project and many more ahead.
