First early year’s settings awarded the new ‘Portage Stamp of Approval’!

The NPA are delighted to announce that two early year’s settings in Northumberland are the first to receive the ‘Portage Stamp of Approval’ award.

Congratulations to Princess Louise Pre-School Nursery and Tippy Toes Childcare in Blyth, both supported by the Northumberland Portage service.

Nursery Managers, Julia Turnbull and Lyndsey Brown were presented with the award by Carol MacDonald from the Northumberland Portage team. Their achievement has been celebrated in the local press and the Northumberland County Council newsletter.

The ‘Portage Stamp of Approval’ is a quality assurance award given to early year’s settings who have demonstrated they deliver inclusive education based upon Portage principles and the Portage model.

Northumberland Portage service has supported this new initiative, identifying early year’s settings that offer high quality provision for children with special needs and disabilities.
