About Hayley

Hayley is a mum of two girls, the youngest of whom has Down ’s syndrome.

Via her multi-award-winning blog Downs Side Up she has become a speaker and author, a campaigner and advocate for those with learning disabilities. 

From No 10 to Parliament to mainstream TV and radio, her voice makes the nation sit up and listen and challenge their thinking about the condition.

She is passionate about inclusive advertising, believing we all need to see ourselves represented in commercials and her daughter Natty was the first child with a disability to appear in a national supermarket ‘Back to School’ advert.

She penned a book with her eldest daughter Mia, entitled ‘I Love You Natty; A Sibling’s Introduction to Down’s Syndrome’.

She has recently launched a pack of cards designed to support new parents following a diagnosis, entitled ‘Talking about Down’s Syndrome – Conversations for New Parents’ which will be invaluable for professionals as well as the families they work with.
